>>1791899>>1791994I want to clarify that I do know that Michigan has plenty of beautiful unincorporated towns like Oscoda or Harbor Springs. My visits to the UP have been pleasant as well, and if I could relocate my job there I probably would think about it. My greater point is my day-to-day consists of looking at pic related, watching people walking and cycling on the median during busy traffic, trying to cross five or six lanes to get home to their shack call a "home." That's what I find demoralizing and it's worse when I think about children having to live in these conditions. No, I don't live in pic related (it's a part of my commute) - but my county is only doing a little bit better. My county does have a busing system mainly used for the elderly and the disabled. However, the only walkable parts of my county would be historic downtown, meanwhile everywhere else is a commute by car. Cyclists don't have bike lanes so they just use the side walks.
