I got a free Miata that was being thrown out. The groupset and levers were yuck and just bought some cheap chink wheels and tires, bought a new seat and some old lx levers and turned into a a great beater that got me through a few tough years.
Also alot of cheap BSO single speeds have gotten A LOT more people into cycling so its not a bad thing IMHO
TLDR..expensive brake less fixies and second and third wave fixie cultures is toxic with a few few exceptions in /pyb/ threads
