New bike (Marin B-17) arrives Thursday. I'm putting XT Di2 and the PRO Tharsis trail stem and bar on for maximum integration/cockpit sexiness with the battery stored in the steerer tube of the fork. This requires that the steerer be cut to the height you want to run it at as you can't have any spacers above the stem.
Oh and I'm replacing the fork too, with a 150mm Lyrik DPA, which can flip from 150 to 120mm.
I'm inclined to want to slam the stem... the stems on my road and cross bikes are slammed. I also think that it won't hurt the climbing ability, and will put my position as close as possible to that intended by the original 130mm fork the bike ships with.
Any reason I shouldn't do so? I am unconcerned with resale, etc., only performance. I plan to ride a mix of trail/AM, race XC and enduro.
