>>1422228>more danger than I'd likeI don't have any stats to back it up, but normal street motorcycling feels a LOT less dangerous than bicycling down the side of the highway. You're just cruising along with the flow of traffic, not going backwards against it at highway speeds! Even a basic moto also has vastly more capable systems; fenders, lights, decent brakes, suspension, ect are not things you need to p-clamp onto it aftermarket, they're all part of the package. Moto is also more practical as a second vehicle with car-like range and speed and decent cargo capacity, so you don't need to feel like it's "just a hobby". Also gives you an excuse to dress up in a black leather gimp suit in public, if you're into that sort of thing!
Even if you're not feeling keen, sign up for motorcycle lessons anyway. Attend classroom sessions, weave through the cones on those crappy (but still fun!) school bikes, take the test, get your license. Even if you never buy your own motorcycle the license stays with you for life and is always nice to have.
Also: introduction to scuba and a "familiarization flight" at a flight school. In both cases the schools subsidize that first experience to get you in the door: they'll practically pay you just to do it! Even if you have no intention of getting deep into these expensive hobbies, even if you say that up front, they're still super-cool experiences to have. And you never know...
