Second day with cleats torqued down better went smoother, no issues. Lubed things up just to remove any doubt, tension was already set to minimum. Using the SH-56 multi release cleats - feels like I'm primarily doing the outwards heel motion to release but maybe they have some extra float? I know 51s tend to be more recommended but the difference is lost on me without having compared myself.
I haven't ruled out going to TIME with their Xpresso pedals but I got these M515s for free from local coop. Thought I might end up with XC/Gravel shoes but the deal on these was too good to pass up and they fit almost perfect.
