Salsa one is FUCKING SRAM so it's probably shit too, plus it comes with comically big tires for a mtb larping as a road bike. Maybe get the giant and live with the crankset until someday you replace it with a proper Sora one (maybe $200 including new bb and chain). Or get something a little better from the start to delay the inevitable urge to upgrade for a couple more years.
