Regarding the whole discussion, things are not always optimal, why are you so dead set on rationalizing things? Do you think a harley rider is going to give a shit if someone comes to tell him that a vespa would consume less per 100 miles? I like the 26er style as that's what we grew up with and it does kinda have that motocross vibe, don't need any other reasons, I don't do races.
