>>1425830In my experience all SPD pedals are created equally in terms of reliability. The model you posted sheds debris well and is easily serviced, not that you'll have to more than once a year, if that. Replacement bearings are cheap and easy to come by. I've been using SPDs on my road, gravel/commuter, and mtb for years and have had no problems once they were tensioned properly. There are one sided pedals that have a flat body on the other side (pic related) that you may want to consider if you think you will ever want to ride with flat shoes, but swapping pedals is piss easy anyway.
