As a Guatemalan myself I can confirm you are right. All trains have stopped running decades ago. The old main station in Guatemala city became a museum pic related.
The only future transportation proyects in the country are one that would connect Mexico and Guatemala with one cargo train route and other in Guatemala City for a tram.
