I ordered a bike (Kona sutra ULTD) that won’t get here for a few more months. I plan to use it for both trail riding with the stock mtb tires and also as my first “road” bike with skinny road tires. I think the easiest way to have both without a big tire swap every two rides (including tubeless on the mtb tires) is to get a completely different wheelset/rotors/cassette and put the road tires on that, and just be able to swap wheelsets depending on the day
Is that a smart idea? Should I start looking to buy a wheelset now for when my bike comes in a few months? Should I just try the 29 x 2.2 mtb tires on the road first?
