because you will piss when you shit and if you just pull them down around your ankles you will piss on your pants and then you will panic and stomp shit into them
also, make a poo stick, and stir the poo in the hole you dug for poo with the toilet paper to break it down a little so animals do not dig it up and then bury the poo stick in the hole
also carry one of them little folding spades to dig your hole. And dig it before it's critical so you can take your time. You don't want to have to rush a shit. Yes if you have diaharrea and are wild camping you could pre-dig a shitter. But otherwise, i don't see it as a real problem.
