Do modernizations of trains on the same network count? Because I love the Tatra T3.PLF that Prague and I think a few other eastern European cities have thought up. The T3 has a legendary reliability but at some point it didn't comply with accessibility regulations anymore so in addition to the usual seating, control and audiovisual information upgrades these units also had a low floor center section hacked into them for wheelchairs and strollers. You can see the difference between the low floor windows on either side of the center entry and the rest of the windows at the original height.
