>>1802099>realistically 200$ is too low to get something reliable. This simply has not been my experience. Find someone on craigslist who sells refurbished bikes and you'll often get something that works well enough. Or learn to wrench and scope out a deal and you can get a real whip for a good price. I think $200 is more than enough for a normal ass bike if you know bikes or know someone who can point one out (i.e. us on /n/)
Sure the bike in question will probably need a little love, but bike parts are CHEAP .
I paid $110 for a 70's ten speed that was tuned up well by some old boomer, that got me through 4 years of college and only stopped working becuase I broke every part trying to fix it.
Payed $200 straight for a miyata, just needed some grease, bearings.
Payed $120 for a Trek 730 excellent, unused condition. Tuned up, ready to ride. But the guy was being generous.
Payed $100 for a Fuji berkely from the 80's, needed a new front brake and cables, that was it.
My craigslist is pretty alright
>>1802086I get the suspicion but there isn't much we can do just from your craigslist. But then we can't help you. Go to walmart and buy a shitty bike that will break within a year.
