Am I retarded for wanting to quit to go do AMO's STAR Center TECH program that gives you 3rd AE after 2 years for no cost, you just have an obligation to sail with AMO for 5 years after that? Based on my research 3rd AEs make like $100k-$120k/yr which is probably more than I'd be making in 2 years at this job anyway, plus assuming I'm working something like 180 on/180 off I'd be working less days in a year than I currently do at my office job. I kind of want to get out and do something interesting before I get too old, I just wish I knew this whole industry existed when I was 18.
