It is now official that the "Kita Umeda Station" is not going to be an actual new station, but a seperate set of underground platforms for the Osaka Station (similar to the Keiyo Line platforms for the Tokyo Station), which will also have a new entrance at the west side of the station and underground passage to access the underground platforms. This also means more commercial development for the empty-ish parcel of land at the west side and Haruka will finally stop at Osaka Station after 30+ years of service.
