It ticks some boxes for me such as tire clearance, front eyelet and mid fork rack mounts, rear rack mounts. I think it'd make a better commuter than my current sport tourer. I see that it has an upgraded tricolor groupset, these things as far as I can tell all had suntour stuff. It have 27" wheels and being aluminum instead of a lugged steel frame like I'm used to is putting me off though, especially for the price. I don't readily have a 700c wheelset available, but I do have a front and rear rack I could use. Dude has it listed for $350 on ebay so I'm not hopeful about talking him down in price. At the end of the day it was the lowest rung touring bike for that year, but vintage touring bikes in my size are insanely hard to come by.
