I considered a backpack, it wasn’t the worst when I used to ride with a camelback but I definitely didn’t like it. I could maybe afford one high-end packable tent and a mattress, but my only sleeping bag is fucking huge, probably fills an entire backpack tightly and just can’t fit on my bike (barely squeezes into 20L bag, most bikepacking bags I see are 8-10L)
I have a rack on my bike that barely fits the bag with 32” straps but even then I don’t know if it’ll stay secure
Seems like most cargo durability on bikes kinda tops out at gravel or light XC riding
