Slammed a crater into the runway the other night in a 40k lb airplane with passengers on board and when I got my pay check it was *gasp* the same amount as every other check.
Theres a minimum standard that every professional pilot must be at. You have to be able to hand fly at around the CPL ACS level, and be able to cram systems knowledge & memory items every year for recurrent. Anything above that is completely irrelevant.
3 Things companies care about most when hiring: Do you meet the experience requirements our insurance wants? Do you have a track record of flying professionally and not doing something stupid and getting in trouble? Are you able to be professional around passengers & generally pleasant to be around? (not too autistic, shower & brush you teeth regularly, etc)
This handfly bullshit is cope pushed by inexperienced pilots. They tried so hard to hone in their lazy 8s & steep turns because it's what set them aside in training and formed their identity. The existence of a pilot who makes 6 figures and handflys like ass disturbs them.
