classic fieyues off aliexpress (ironically you often buy fake ones in the west, from western companies, that are worse) are very good.
I also really like leather onitsuka tigers, also very good grip, way more expensive though. And thin soled shoes wear out quickly.
The other school of thought would be to get something thicker and stiffer so look at actual cycling shoes like five tens. Depends on distance really. I'd almost always prefer clipless when thin/light/flexy becomes an issue.
