A couple of things I've learnt through 4.5 years of rollerblading:
1. Learn your brakes. T stop, powerslide and Lunge are all that you need.
2. Try cruising on one leg on an open road for long periods to improve balance.
3. The best excersize to increase endurance is ass-to-the-grass weighted squats.
4. Learn how to maintain your skates and cycle your wheels.
5. Banana rocker for more agility, Anti rocker for more stability.
6. Kneepads and a helmet are a must. Try looking for an EPP foam helmet.
