The current alignments could be kept so long as they're turned into designated tram or tram-bus lanes, for more reliable service. They also ought to be upgraded to slightly larger vehicles, such as standard 50' (30m) long five-section trams. That's a reasonable capacity. These lines could be built to a lower standard than the LRT, a regular tram lane would do fine, preferrably down the center of the road with boarding platforms. In low-traffic areas the odd mixed section wouldn't be terrible either. The lines are mostly not so long that a commercial speed of 12-15mph wouldn't suffice.
