Can we talk about bike computers for a bit?
I've had a smartwatch for the longest time. Got one when I bought my phone, still going on strong. My GF got me one of those entry-ish level garmin headunits, and at first I was a bit pumped about it, but after a few weeks of using it, I'm failing to see the point.
I can start a workout in my watch and it'll record the whole thing for me, it only lacks the cadence sensor, it measures my heart rate just fine, plots the route and whatnot.
The gps unit feels like a bit of an unnecessary bling attached to my bike now. It can show me some info like elevation profiles and the rout, but then again I usually plan my routes on my phone, so I just use my earbuds and the phone tells me where I have to turn and I go on from there.
I feel like it calls too much attention, from me and as a piece of bling attached to the bike. Do you people use one, if ever? Maybe it's more of a boomer roadie thing.
