Saw a flashing red light in the distance after dark tonight. Turns out it was a laser level forgotten at a house build site that could be seen pulsing from over 1.5 km away. I turned it off so it wouldn't keep shouting "STEAL ME!". The road is was on wasn't open and didn't have streetlights yet so it probably would have been safe where it was, but I moved it around back. I looked up the model when I got home and it was $750.
A flat from a snap off construction knife blade burned up some valuable daylight earlier in the ride. The way the tire is sliced I was a bit worried it would flat again, but not worried enough to cut my ride short.
I'm going to have to find a new 700x35 mixed surface tire. I'd been using Continental Cyclocross Speeds, which were reasonably priced with a decent lifespan, but they got discontinued.
