The range of discussion for rigid mtb/touring esque bikes should be between 35mm and 50mm. That's 2" at the extreme. 2.15 is your actual trail size. 2.3 is already stupid. 2.6 is your upper limit of stupid.
Past 2.3 rigid stops making sense.
2.6 is the extreme tolerable outlier.
