I like 9Fs and post-WW2 British steam in general, with their more utilitarian appearance, exposed pipework and running gear, and the attempts to push what a locomotive able to run on the quite restrictive British network was capable of. The railway I live near currently has an operational 9F which is a bonus each time I visit.
