>>1755962In agreement with what the other anon said, I would add that for motive power, railroad tech and requirements basically haven't moved in 80 years, especially in the US. Pic related was just retired from English service last year, and those were first pushed into service in 1938. The GG1 was the PRR's pride and joy, and their performance numbers actually stack up pretty well against the Siemens ACS-64s currently in use on the NEC. If they hadn't been physically worn out, they would've been good for another 20 years, maybe longer with some overhauls to bring them up to a more modern spec.
