>>1105929well what got me interested in it is I'm making alternative version of boston in cities skylines. I used evenbetterimageoverlay and reproduced boston as it was in 1776 and have been slowly building it out organically by making roads that seem to fit the geography instead of just reproducing the roads that were actually built after 1776. And its meant to be as dense as can be (with a six story building limit) so there really aren't any suburbs so I have a lot of room to figure out where to put the rail lines.
I'll try and a savegame of it and the original 1776 version on the steam workshop sometime in the future, but I usually don't play all that often because its like a 20 min load time for me, so I've started just making actual maps with inkscape.
this is a project I'm still in the process of working on. Its basically an alternative version of new york that never got the Commissioner's Plan in a more organic/european style.
