What do you think of buying an ultra cheap touring bike? It's about 180 USD, I've seen someone selling it used for 140 which is very affordable and already comes with fenders, racks (front and rear) and pannier bags. I figured out if I buy it used I'll just upgrade the full groupset to Sora as it is still cheaper for complete package rather than the competitors (total 350 $), the closest I've found would be Marin Nicasio which is about 530 $ but for the bike only. It's steel bike, quite heavy but pretty much what I want for general use and running errands, maybe take it out on weekends somewhere far.
