My only concern is that the nipples are rusted, would the wrench just tear through them?It's a possibility, but won't know until you try, a spoke wrench is a good tool to have in any case (get the kind with multiple sizes). While you're in the shop getting a chain you can ask them if they're fubar. Replacing one or two isn't a huge deal, but replacing all of them would be a much bigger and more expensive job than the wheels are worth.
