>>1712764The Salt Lake area is fucked. To the west is Tooele and commuter traffic on I-80 is bottlenecked by the Great Salt Lake and the Oquirrh Mountains. To the east is Park City and the only way into Salt Lake in the winter is I-80. We once had the fastest-expanding light-rail system in the nation but all of that came to a halt about ten years ago. Now UTA is sitting around with their thumbs up their asses absolutely convinced that Bus Rapid Transit is like "light rail on rubber tires".
I designed a commuter rail in black that links Tooele and Park City and expanded the light rail area to cover the suburbs in a semi-circular pattern. Sadly this is most likely what we'll be stuck with for the foreseeable future.
