>>1154555>wild campingYeah. You can get away with a lot if you're stealthy/ friendly/ conscientious. Be aware how quickly impressions of you spread with locals when you're travelling slowly on a bicycle, especially in a small place.
Always take your rubbish out, and pick up other peoples rubbish as well if you stop somewhere. It's a good thing to do anyway and locals might think it's yours if they see it.
Take a folding trowel and some toilet paper and dig a deep hole well away from any water if you have to shit. Take your pants & underwear completely off. Don't wait until it's too late, prep time to shit in a hole properly takes a while.
You can camp almost anywhere if you set up after dark and pack up at first light.
Before I start looking for a campsite I'll stop and ask someone for water/ use a tap. You can give a good impression to locals who might see you later, and I like to have min 2 litres of water with me when i'm looking for a campspot, you might find a cool spot that's a bit hard to get to and having to leave again to get water really sucks. Nice to have a lot for night and enough to make coffee in the morning.
Camping on sand really sucks. It gets everywhere. It's cold. There are a lot of insects in sand.
