Ofc bicycle can't compete with car too. It's to short ranged to replace car. (In Netherlands for example average bicycle commute range is 5 km, average commuter range country wide is ... 20+ km, NGMI).
Low speed, low baggage capacy, physical efforts required, no protection from weather, terrible safety (5-10 more dangerous per mile driven).
