The net effect is traffic keeps moving because there aren't those cancerous cages doing reverse parallel parking in front of trams, but the cars will still be on the roads if they can't park, just looking for parking elsewhere. If people know they can get a better run along the road because it's now a clearway, more people will travel on that road.
