As I said before, a 10mm pistol is way better than a 9mm for aggressive wildlife(it'll work on moose if that's a problem for you), but really it's better to stay away, use your legs to power away, or bring along some pepper spray. There are a lot of non-lethal options, even ones that don't rhyme with hay. Bringing a gun on a bike ride is dumb, like carrying on a day hike.
