>>1708538Long story but basically Sean McCoshen, the founder, got the idea from talking to a group called G7G in his role as a banker and wanted to build it himself. He bribed the founder of some sketchy company called Bridging Finance for a loan to start construction. He got caught and Bridging Finance got placed in receivership by the Canadian government (A FUCKING LEAF) and the loan to the A2A railroad was their biggest asset. A2A has no way to pay it back right now (they haven't built anything yet) so their assets are being liquidated by the court to pay Bridging Finance's creditors.
G7G is suing to get A2A's intellectual property (route maps, etc. - the only work that has been done so far), which they claim is rightfully theirs, so they can continue to do absolutely nothing with it for another decade.
Alaska to Alberta Railway is kill. At this rate I doubt we're even going to see the Alaska Railroad make it to Delta Junction.
