If I were buying a boat to go sailing far I'd still want one though for the sheer amount of space (and potentially performance if you buy a design oriented towards it) they can provide.
The Multi 23 looks like an amazing piece of kit but holy shit, singlehanding one across the Atlantic seems like a heck of an undertaking, what with the no protection from the elements and stuff. Maybe he had a setup like pic related? Looks comfy as hell, not gonna lie.
