Did Canadians leak intelligence about how to build fast planes to the USSR?
This is mildly suspicious:
“
On 20 February 1959, Prime Minister of Canada John Diefenbaker abruptly halted the development of the Arrow (and its Iroquois engines) before the scheduled project review to evaluate the program could be held.[6] Canada tried to sell the Arrow to the US and Britain, but no agreements were concluded.[7]
”
Could have either leaked it to try to entice the Mutts to buy it in order to compete with the Rus, or have sold the recipe to the Rus after they couldn’t get a buyer?
Does anyone know how the Russians made their Ye-66?
I’m curious also about how much the Cold War was kept up as a boondoggle for the complexes around the world getting money, power and prestige from it.
