You should buy a surly if you want a bike. Look for one on Craigslists you can drive to within 5 hours if you're poor. They have fatties fit fine stickers on them. Pretty much all surlies will be back of mind suited to loaded touring and should be perfect for you. The problem is you don't want to leave a nice bike locked up at the bus stop all day.
