I have broad shoulders so ideally I should have ridden 76cm on a mtb, but 73cm felt ok...regardless of your shoulder width, if you try the neo-mtb geometry/trail setup at min you should try out 72cm bars.
It might sound a bizzare size, but the whole frame is built around it, youll understand after you try it, it feels like a sporty cruiser.

Many frames allowed 2.5" but if you pedalled, it was noticable weight. Cushinging is in the profile anyway, and many 2.25" tires have huge profiles - check out Geax Sturdy.
