i've recently inherited this abomination from my uncle.
he's pretty tall and had this frame made to his size by a not too sophisticated bike maker in 1990.
i don´t know if it is chromoly but i doubt it, is heavy as fuck. does somebody knows if there's a way to tell? top and down tubes are elliptic.
i've been riding it for a couple of months to test it because i don't like to ride my mtb to conmute or go shopping (i have to let the bike chained in some sketchy neighbourhoods).
surprisingly it handles strangely well and i'm starting to get fond to it, so i was thinking on upgrading a bit some components and make it a beater/gravel ride (the pic is from before i got it).
i'm tall too and long legged, but i'm thinking on getting some drops with a shorter stem, a better seat, some new rims and tyres. the crankset is pretty busted but a local bike mech told me that the tube that houses the ball bearings (i don't know the name in english) has an old system and thread that is incompatible with new ones, so i don´t know if i can do anything about it. maybe some parts from another old bike.
i cant find a decent fork that matches that monstruous head tube.
