You could do alternating one-way streets to narrow the roads. Smaller yards since you have big parks nearby.
You could allow a few duplexes and triplexes here and there for people who don't have families.
You could move the parks around and add some walking paths to access them easier.
Maybe a little cafe in one of the parks. Or a corner store. With your bus stops next to them. Now when you come home on the bus you can stop at the corner store to pick something up on the way home. Doesn't that sound nice?
