and yeah a rack top in front for a smol basket is extremely convenient.
Which front eyelet do you have? Is it the lower one? If so, consider the constructuer rack and many others, especially if you have chunky fork blades, will need to be spaced out to clear over the fork leg, resulting in a beam load on the bolt, rather than a shear load, much weaker.
hardware with surly is a nice plus. P clamps are actually not ideal for creating mid fork bosses. Tubus makes the superior clamp. A U-bolt is also better than a p-clamp.
