Not a heavy bicycle user. I have an old Glacier Point Magna mountain bike in my shed. I had it since I was a teenager and probably never rode it more than a few miles.

I'm Probably going to ride much further now, maybe around the neighborhood/park. Not like I'll be going into Manhattan or anything.
Is there anything I should check/look over before I start riding again?
Besides dust, cowebs, and these strange balls of webs hanging off the bike. There doesn't appear to be much wrong with it. The brakes work but make a horrid screeching noise. And I don't think I've ever put WD40 on the chain. But I rode it around the backyard for a bit and it seems okay. Also is it possible to convert this model bike (simply) to an Ebike?
