Hey /BQG/, I'm looking for some guidance/info on what I should learn about bikes. I know legit jackshit about bikes, have never changed a tire on one, the most I've done with one was removing rust and lubricating my chain recently.
Lately I've had to start commuting to work, about a 30 minute ride to and back, and figured I should learn more about bikes incase anything happens to this old bike I got as a teen.
First off, where should I look for info on how to maintain my bike and look for potential problems?
Also was thinking about grabbing a new bike since I'm gonna be commuting so often. I live in Southeast Alaska so snow and rain is very common, any special considerations I should remember and take into account due to the weather?
Was thinking of buying a fat tire bike since biking in the snow with regular tires sucks major fucking ass.
Also any comfy helmets /bqg/ would reccomend? My helmet is sorta tight and gives me headaches after riding with a headlamp on.
