If so, I'd like to see the end of the pin on the other side of the chain. Notice how the pins sits proud of the outer plates (in blue). That's how it should be. So if the plates have spread enough to allow the roller (yellow) to have side to side play and that large gap, then I'd imagine the other end of that pin isn't proud of the plate on the other side, and it's likely to fail at that point.
