>>1391178>Have you even ever lived anywhere other than apartments in an urban area? Do you even have the experience to compare the two?Yes. I grew up in a sprawly Sunbelt suburb. As an adult I've lived in two major midsize US cities, one of which had a decent but not great bus system and where I still owned a car (sometimes I'd take transit, sometimes I'd take the car, it depended on a lot, but let me tell you - commuting by transit is so. much. more. chill. and. gives. you. back. so. much. time. omg.) , and one of which had an excellent transit system where I did not. And now I've lived in New York City for most of this decade, and it's great, there is absolutely nothing I would trade in those other places, absolutely nothing I could do there that I can't do here.
Also, if for some godforsaken reason you *have* to have your palace and yard, pic related is in Brooklyn. Not the best use of space, but still with subway and bus service and all the other amenities of urban living. There's areas like this in every borough, even in Manhattan (in a small corner of Inwood).
