My front disc, a Tektro IO 160mm, stops well and safely with no squealing (unless I get the disc dirty of course) but it always makes a bit of a "brtrrrrr" noise, it's very subtle, imagine... dunno smacking a plastic straw on the edge of a table at a very high frequency, but much quieter.
What could it be? Could it be normal? I'm fairly sure the rotor has a little bend in it, maybe it's just the air squeezed in the disc holes, I have no idea. I don't mind the noise to be honest, as it's very subtle so it just serves as an acustic feedback of my braking, just wondering what the hell it is.
If I brake REALLY hard it makes a sorta metallic sound though and that scares me a little, but I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, I have to press the brake lever really hard to do that and the bike stops smoothly and straight, so I have no idea what it could be.
Rear disc is noiseless, but I guess it's also because I can put much less pressure on it before the wheel just locks and slips.
