>>1675379I like the new technology. I like that nice things have gotten crazy cheap, particularly thru-axle, hydraulic road groupsets, crabon, fancy computers and sensors, and 3d printing. I like the easy access to helpful data on geometry of stock frames as well as tools to mock up what a possible modification would do to the other measurements. I like the diversity of data ecosystems. I like how the general biking public has come to embrace lighting by default. I like the rise of cycling component manufacturing from the far east, because I want wh*teoid "bike culture" types to be in the bread line, begging, where they belong, followed by joining the great unhoused, and lastly the overdose on opioid drugs.
There are things I don't like, but I like to look at the bright side of things. Everything is getting better and cheaper. Am*rican made bikes will go the way of fur trapping and steam trains. The litespeed factory will soon become a UPS access point for Amazon packages. Racer culture is on the rise. The netherlands will be hidden securely under 25 meters of cold brine infested with jellyfish. And on bright summer days the ozone index will be less likely to exceed 100 because all the cages will use batteries.
