Just got back from Italy and as I walked through the cities, seeing people of all ages happily enjoy life together, I kept thinking “if this was America they would have bulldozed half these buildings to pave a parking lot.”
Also they have cars in the cities and villages in Italy, which proves you don’t need huge roads/stroads/highways for cars to function. Widening roads is pointless.
Also their national rail system is incredible. You can get to nearby major cities in an hour and you can just sit there in peace with wifi or reading or gazing out the window.
