However Dr. Pearson died aboard the Lusitania in 1915 before he could see his plans come to fruition>For this first extension it replaced the upper portion of a tram which ran from the penultimate station before the Sarria terminus to a funicular built in 1906 which reached the hilltop town of Vallvidrera.Pic related shows the upper portion of said tram.
